Steep and Sip
Objective
Steep and Sip was created for the Informational Design class at University of Baltimore. The overall goal was to create a field guide based on a personal interest and teach the reader key information about said topic. Steep and Sip delves into characteristics of different tea variations from black, green, white, and oolong to name some.
The audience is geared towards a millennial tea enthusiast looking to learn more about different tea variations. I made sure to keep in mind the audience I was designing this for and aimed for a very minimal and clean elements to reflect the voice and tone for the book.
Process
I compiled researched on the historical background, the ideal water temperature and steep times, caffeine levels, and food pairings for each tea variation. That research was then used to write and edit the copy for the field guide. I also sourced images of each variation of loose leaf tea. Each image needed to be crisp, bold, and detailed enough for the viewer to see the differences between each style of tea to further educate them and help them point out the specific tea they may look for in the future.
